Momentum Builds: Reps. Jack Bergman (MI-01), Bill Huizenga (MI-04), and John James (MI-10) Endorse Amir Hassan for Congress

Flint, MI – Today three members of the Michigan Republican Congressional Delegation announced their endorsement of Amir Hassan in the race for Congress in Michigan’s 8th District.

“Amir Hassan’s service to our Nation speaks for itself. As a Navy Veteran of the Global War on Terror, Amir helped keep Americans safe from terrorists at Guantanamo Bay and later worked to stop their plots as an intelligence analyst. As a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, he continued to put country and public safety first,” said Congressman “General” Jack Bergman. “Amir understands the seriousness of the moment we are in and has the backbone to do what’s right. After a half-century of failed Democrat leadership in the district, I’m proud to endorse Amir Hassan for Congress. The people of Michigan’s 8th District would be well served by his leadership.”

“Amir Hassan is a patriot who signed up to serve his country and community in the military as a federal law enforcement officer. In the Navy he helped protect America from the world’s deadliest terrorists while serving at Guantanamo Bay and helped foil terrorist plots as an intelligence analyst,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “He has the courage needed to fix the damage caused by 50 years of failed Democratic policies in Mid-Michigan. I wholeheartedly support him for Congress in Michigan’s 8th district and he has my complete and total endorsement.”

Congressman John James, who announced his endorsement of Amir at an event last week had this to say: “Amir Hassan grew up in Flint, in a working class family that watched opportunity disappear under failed Democratic leadership. When America needed people to step up, Amir did – from the Navy, where he served at Guantanamo Bay to federal law enforcement where he continued to keep us safe. Amir is just the type of conservative we need in Congress and he has my total endorsement.”

“I’m honored to have the support of such strong public servants in our effort to flip the 8th district after a half century of Democrat mismanagement,” said Amir Hassan. “This district is hungry for change. As a son of Flint, I’ve seen opportunity vanish for far too long. Kristen McDonald Rivet votes with the radical left more than she does with her constituents back home. In Congress, I’ll get to work to protect our federal law enforcement officers by supporting a Federal Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights, and give President Trump and the America First agenda reinforcements in Congress.”

Amir Hassan is a father, Navy Veteran, and career federal law enforcement officer. During the Global War on Terrorism, Amir was stationed in Italy, Guantanamo Bay, Asia and later the Horn of Africa as an intelligence analyst helping keep Americans safe. After leaving the military, he continued serving in federal law enforcement. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, where his grandparents settled during the Great Migration to work for General Motors, Amir was a star three-sport high school athlete. He is now running to restore opportunity for Mid-Michiganders, incentivizing the trades and civil service careers while addressing decades of failed Democratic leadership in Washington, for the benefit of future generations, including his daughters, Naylani and Jayla.
